Today's 5: Fall Arrives; Music in the Air

It's Rockin' Shabbat at Temple Beth Elohim Friday and a special musical program at the PJC Saturday.

Fall arrives at 5:05 a.m. Friday. The weekend is filled with local autumn events, including special music at two area synagogues. Remember, we want to help promote all your events here.

Friday's Highlights.

1. It's the fourth Friday of the month, and that means will be hosting Rockin' Shabbat Friday at 7:30 p.m., where the service is conducted in an all-music format. Dress code for this service is respectful casual.

2. Then, tomorrow night,the is offering a special musical event to mark the beginning of the High Holiday season. The PJC program begins at 8 p.m. with a Havdalah service that marks the end of Shabbat. A coffee house with refreshments follows with the music of the dynamic pop duo It's free and open to all.

3. There's lots of sports on tap: Today at 4:30 p.m., hosts Long Beach in girls soccer. On Saturday, Plainview's varsity football team travels to Uniondale High School for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff.

4. The exhibit: Francisco Goya: Los Caprichos" will be on display now through Nov. 27 at the Nassau County Museum of Art. Los Caprichos is a set of 80 etchings by the famed Spanish and are regarded among the most influential series of graphic images in Western art.
