Today's 5: Kids' Music at Jones Beach

There's music for young people at Jones Beach State Park tonight.

1.  offers Kids Night music at the Boardwalk Bandshell.The show begins at 7:30 p.m. and free parking is available in Field 4.

2.  is holding an open house Tuesday as well as Wednesday and Thursday this week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for prospective members.

3. With the afternoons hot and humid this week, consider some museum going: The C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University presents Eastern Shores, an exhibit exploring the work of artists who deal with themes connected to the water. Daily 9:30 a.m.– 4:30 p.m.

4. An ongoing exhibit at the features more than 50 photos of photographer The event runs daily through Sept. 4 from 11 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

5. With school out, there's also great opportunities to visit local points of interest. The 40 acres of the historic Bailey Arboretum in Lattingtown is open daily and free to the public.
