Today's 5: Primary Election on Tap

There is a primary election today around the state and two men are seeking a chance to run against popular Democratic Legislator Judy Jacobs.

1.The two men in today's primary are Bruce P. Kennedy, Jr. and James Milano, whose names appear on both the Republican and Conservative party lines for the 16th Legislative District. The winner faces Jacobs in the general election. See our story here.

2. A candlelight vigil was held last night at Plainview ; Sponsored by The Concerned Citizens of the Plainview-Old Bethpage Community, Inc., the event marked the Sept. 11 tragedy at the home of the World Trade Center Artifact.  Patch will have a complete story later today.

3. The Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library's September artist is Leo Eagle, whose work is a colorful and large mixed-media explosion of stars and geometric designs aptly entitled "Stars 'n Art."
