Today's 5: Rare Thursday Football

Because of the Yom Kippur holiday, the Hawks play at home this afternoon, hosting Hempstead.

Because of the Yom Kippur holiday this weekend, Plainview plays its football game vs. Hempstead at home this afternoon. The Jewish "Day of Atonement" begins Friday at sunset and continues until sundown on Saturday. Numerous Long Island football teams have moved this week's games to Thursday.
