Summer Break Nearly Over; Free Film at Library Wednesday

Here's a quick look at the week ahead in Plainview:

1. Today begins the last week of summer break for Plainview students. We'll have back to school features all week.

2. Classes resume Monday at Farmingdale State College for the fall semester, along with many area and regional colleges.

3. The Plainview Library has two free showings of the film "Amour," on Wednesday at 3 and 7: 30 p.m.

4. If your civic group or synagogue is planning a public event, there's no easier way to get the word out on our "Boards." Click here for the free exposure.

5. With the exception of Monday, the week's weather forecast is generally good for beach days. Highs this week in the mid- to upper 80s.
