Education

Lou grew up in Plainview and attended the local Plainview-Old Bethpage elementary and middle schools. As a young man, he was a member of Boy Scout Troop 13 and worked as a counselor at the Mid-Island Y Jewish Community Center. Lou graduated from Chaminade High School and went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Philosophy from Fordham University. He later received his Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School and passed the New York State Bar Exam.

Bringing the private sector voice to Albany

Lou served as the Manager of Policy & Government Affairs for the Long Island Contractors’ Association, where he represented Long Island’s Heavy Construction Industry. At LICA, Lou fought to keep Long Island’s roads and bridges safe, smooth and congestion free, so that the economy which relies on this infrastructure could continue to thrive along with the thousands of men and women who work in the construction industry.

Community Leader

Lou was a founding member of the Action Long Island Young Adult Alliance, where he served as the Chairman of the Transportation and Government Relations. In his work with the ALI-YAA, he fought tirelessly to keep Long Island affordable for young adults who are forced to leave in increasing numbers every year. Lou’s primary focus was pursuing initiatives to reduce the property tax burden placed on Long Island homeowners and to incentivize development in a responsible manner consistent with our suburban quality of life.

Lou is also the Co-Chair of County Executive Youth Cabinet, which aims to open the doors of government to young adults and give them a voice in shaping policy for the future.
