Plainview Water District to Collect Items for Hurricane Victims

The Plainview Water District is inviting Plainview-Old Bethpage residents and business owners to donate items needed by fellow Long Islanders who were severely affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Board of Commissioners Andrew Bader, Joel Kessler and Edward Shulroff announced that canned foods, toiletries, diapers, winter hats, gloves, jackets and blankets collected by the Plainview Water District will be donated to the Town of Babylon in Suffolk County.

“Hurricane Sandy impacted many families and individuals all across the Long Island region – some more than others,” said Board of Commissioners Chairman Andrew Bader.  “Many of us in Plainview were hit hard by the storm, but our neighbors in Suffolk County truly felt the storm’s wrath and these people need our help. It is an honor to do whatever we can to assist those who are in need.”

The Plainview Water District encourages residents and neighbors of the surrounding communities to participate in the district’s collection.

Donations can be dropped off at the District’s customer service window at its Administrative Office, located at 10 Manetto Hill Road in Plainview, on weekdays from 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Donations will be accepted throughout the holiday season.
