Chocolate Duck hosting Inaugural L.I. Gingerbread House Contest

Competition set for Nov. 16 has a Long Island flair to it.

The Village of Farmingdale’s Downtown Events Committee and The Chocolate Duck are hosting the first ever Long Island Gingerbread House Competition in November.

The contest will feature traditional gingerbread houses as well as some inspired by Long Island structures.

Registration for the Nov. 16 contest is open until Nov. 1. Cash prizes and gift certificates will be awarded in youth and adult, professional and amateur divisions, plus there will be a People’s Choice Award.

The competition will be judged by Farmingdale Village Mayor Ralph Ekstrand, Christina Bisbee, co-owner of The Chocolate Duck and Micheline Cummings, owner of Madame Butterfly Cakes in Babylon.
