This story was written and reported by Joe Dowd and Heather Doyle.

Firefighters from Plainview and Syosset responded to a collision between a car and a school bus on Woodbury Road Thursday afternoon, Nassau County Police said.

The bus, carrying high school students, collided with the car just before 2 p.m. in the vicinity of 600 Woodbury Road, on the Plainview-Woodbury border. Photos from the scene show the car had overturned.

Firefighters at the scene said the students were not hurt. They reported that one occupant of the car was being transported to a local hospital.

The high school where the bus originated was not reported. The bus belonged to Huntington Coach, eyewitnesses said. Syosset school officials admitted they use Huntington Coach but declined to say whether their students were aboard.
